The ADSP Corporate/Banner Author, written as “The Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project”, is used to acknowledge ADSP members who contribute to consortium knowledge and infrastructure but do not otherwise meet criteria for byline authorship for a given manuscript.
The ADSP Corporate/Banner Author is required for manuscripts that meet both of the following criteria:
- Manuscript uses extensive ADSP WES or WGS data extracted from NIAGADS as the primary data source for broad-based analyses
- Manuscript is supported by at least one grant with a PI who is an ADSP MOU signatory
ADSP Principal Investigators determine which ADSP members affiliated with their group(s) should be included on the corporate author list. The current list is maintained by the ADSP Coordinating Center.
It is preferred that individuals included in the ADSP Corporate Author be indexed as authors on PubMed. However, journals offer various options to implement banner/corporate authors, with different implications for whether and how banner author members are indexed as authors on PubMed (e.g., American Journal of Human Genetics and Genetics in Medicine; see also Authorship in MEDLINE). When submitting an ADSP manuscript to a journal, corresponding authors should consult the journal’s policies, as journal requirements may supersede the preferred implementation of the ADSP corporate author. External tools such as the NCI Author Arranger can be used to help convert the corporate author list into journal-specified formats.
When journals require a contact email address for the ADSP Corporate/Banner author, the ADSP Coordinating Center email address (adspcc@uw.edu) should be used.
